The city of Glendale is located in Arapahoe County, Colorado. It has a population of just over five thousand. Incorporated in 1952, Glendale is just over half a square mile in area. Cherry Creek bisects the city east to west. Much of the area is residential multi-family high rises and commercial development.

• In 1902, William Harold Baumert named his dairy the Glendale Farm Dairy. This dairy was on the southeast corner of Quebec and Leetsdale, so Glendale was then used to describe the community.

Four Mile Historic Park

Four Mile House is located on the edge of Glendale. Built-in 1859, it is the twelve-acre rural site of Denver’s oldest house. The property is located just outside Glendale’s city limits, in Denver’s vicinity along Cherry Creek. Four Mile House was once a stagecoach stop. It served as a wayside inn and tavern when travelers were on the Cherokee Trail to Denver City. Today the property is called Four Mile Historic Park. The park is home to a museum, a summer camp, and an events center. 

Molly Brown Museum

• Hours: Tuesday thru Saturday 10 am – 3:30 pm

Allow an hour to tour this fine example of Victorian architecture. It is filled with antiques owned by the famous survivor of the Titanic. The museum explores Molly Brown’s activism, philanthropy, and passion. Tours run every half hour and last forty-five minutes.

Bruises and Brews
